Understanding electrical engineers provide a different perspective on seemingly overwhelming design requirements, and early communication can lead to creative, well-designed solutions. Learn tools to help integrate lighting design with codes and other engineering requirements for an easier coordination process with fewer surprises. Through real-life examples and lessons learned, hear proven tactics on communication, codes, the pricing/budget process, scheduling, maintenance, emergency lighting strategies, control systems and other solutions that have been successfully implemented.
- Understand the codes, budgets and other restrictions that can impact the final lighting design, and how to design with them in mind.
- Advocate for lighting design choices more effectively with the entire team and convey their importance to the overall success of the project.
- Understand decisions from various stakeholders, and how to design with their needs in mind.
- Discuss methods and timeline for coordination which allows more effective communication with electrical engineers.
